From the Sunshine Models Prototype Data Sheet for the ART Wood Reefer kits:
"Wood sheathed cars were dominant on the ART until the downturn in the reefer business. They made up 73% of the fleet in 1948, a total of 8,520 cars. In 1961 they still represented 43% of the fleet, some 3,486 cars. The ART wood cars, though varying in minor details, were largely alike in dimensions and capacity - 41'1" or 41'9" in length, inside height of 7'2", 76,000 pound capacity and just under 2,000 cubic feet. The car was a simple adaptation of the popular USRA refrigerator design. They were built in the mid-to-late 1920's by ACF, Mt. Vernon and General American."
